Not all trauma is obvious. Many people associate trauma with major events such as accidents, violence or life-threatening situations. While these experiences can certainly be traumatic, trauma can also develop through difficult childhood experiences, unhealthy relationships, emotional neglect, loss, bullying, addiction, or other experiences that continue to affect how you feel long after they have happened.
You may have moved on with your life in many ways, but still find yourself struggling with anxiety, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem or a persistent feeling that something is holding you back.
Trauma therapy provides a safe and supportive space to understand these experiences and their impact, helping you move towards greater emotional freedom and wellbeing.
Trauma does not always show up as memories or flashbacks.
It can appear in ways that are less obvious, including:
Two people can experience the same event and be affected by it in very different ways.
Trauma is not defined solely by what happened. It is also shaped by how the experience was processed, whether support was available, and how the mind and body adapted in order to cope.
Therapy is not about comparing experiences or deciding whether something was “bad enough” to count as trauma.
It is about understanding the impact those experiences may still be having on your life today.
Many people worry that talking about trauma will feel overwhelming or that they will be expected to revisit painful memories before they are ready.
Trauma therapy moves at a pace that feels safe and manageable.
The aim is not to force you to relive difficult experiences, but to help you understand them, reduce their emotional impact and develop healthier ways of coping in the present.
Together, we can explore patterns, emotional responses and beliefs that may have developed as a result of past experiences, helping you build greater resilience, self-awareness and confidence.
Trauma rarely exists in isolation.

I provide a compassionate, non-judgemental space where we can explore difficult experiences safely and at a pace that feels right for you.

As an integrative therapist, I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches and adapt therapy to the individual rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all model.

My focus is on helping you better understand yourself, process difficult experiences and move forward with greater confidence, clarity and emotional wellbeing.
I offer trauma therapy in person in Bishop’s Stortford and Chelmsford, as well as online sessions via Zoom for clients across the UK.
If past experiences continue to affect your life today, therapy can provide a safe place to begin making sense of them and finding a way forward.
